MEET OUR WARRIORS
Rextyn
Meet Rextyn, one of our incredible warriors from Ewa Beach, Hawaii!
Rextyn is a strong, determined little boy with a smile that can light up a room. He is surrounded by a family who absolutely adores him, including his brothers, who are never far from his side, and his four-legged best friend who is always ready for some extra cuddles.
Throughout his journey, Rextyn has continued to show everyone around him just how much fight he has in him. He has worked incredibly hard in physical and occupational therapy, celebrating victories big and small — from becoming more awake and alert to gaining movement and strength and working on standing with his physical therapists. Even on the hard days, Rextyn keeps pushing forward.
And through it all, there is still so much joy. There are smiles, family time, snuggles with his pup, adventures, and plenty of love. Rextyn’s strength isn’t just about everything he has faced. It’s in the way he continues to show up, work hard, smile, and enjoy the people and moments that mean the most to him.
Rextyn is the definition of a warrior, and we are so proud to have him as part of the Kaylan Strong Fight Like A Warrior family.
Rextyn’s Latest Update
In September 2026, Rextyn’s family learned that his cancer had begun progressing again in his brain and spine. His larger tumors remained relatively stable, but doctors found increased cancer along the lining surrounding his brain and spinal cord.
There was encouraging news from his previous chemotherapy because it worked well while Rextyn was receiving it and produced a positive response. After treatment ended, however, the aggressive cancer began progressing again.
After talking through the options with his medical team, Rextyn’s family decided to move forward with six weeks of daily palliative radiation. Their hope is to slow the progression and give Rextyn more time to keep making memories with the people he loves most.
Most importantly, Rex is still Rex. He remains happy and in good spirits, surrounded by his family and showing them his strength every single day. His family is taking things one day at a time and making every moment together count.
